Days 4

Sightseeing Tour of Amritsar

After early breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Amritsar airport to board a flight to Delhi. Reach Delhi and Visit Akshardham Temple, which is a marvel of architecture that unfolds the cultural legacy of thousands of years and is a tribute to Lord Swaminarayan (1781- 1830), who was the avatar, devas and great sages of Hinduism before travelling to Agra by road. Upon arrival in Agra, you will be transferred to a hotel. A visitor to Agra is caught up in a world of contrasting edifices of red sandstone and white marble, narrow galleys, and quaint buggies. Relax in the evening and overnight stay at the hotel.

Days 5

Amritsar-Delhi-Agra
(By flight: TBA)

Rise early to witness another highlight of the Golden Triangle Tour Package with Amritsar. Your driver and guide will collect you from the hotel early in the morning to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. The ethereal light and fewer tourists make this one of the best times to visit this beautiful monument. A silent battery van will take you up to the entrance, and once inside, you will be enthralled by the magnificence of this quite remarkable white marble building and its setting.

The Taj Mahal is a UNESCO Heritage Site, and the sun rises over it—undisputedly one of the world’s most beautiful buildings. In the soft morning light, as the mist rises from the Yamuna River, it seems to float like a mirage above the surrounding landscape. Built from dazzling marble, its colour changes from white to yellow, cream, and almost orange, an exquisite image that you’ll remember forever.  After a relaxed breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Agra, visiting Agra Fort, this impressive tower built by Akbar in 1565 AD.  The construction is predominately of red sandstone and houses the beautiful Pearl Mosque.  It is from here that Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb. Looked across the Yamuna River to the Taj Mahal in the last few days of his life. Following this, the next stop is Itmadullah’s Tomb, which is also known as Baby Taj. It was built between 1622-26 AD by Nur Jahan, the wife of Jahangir, in memory of her father, Ghias-ud-Din-Beg.  Return to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Days 6

Explore Agra

Days 7

Agra-Fatehpur Sikri-Jaipur
(By Surface: 265 Kms, 5 hrs)

After a relaxed breakfast, drive to Jaipur, stopping en route to visit Fatehpur Sikri.  Fatehpur Sikri is a deserted, red sandstone City built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the late 16th century.  A visit to this veritable fairytale city is an exhilarating experience, its ‘ruins’ in such pristine condition that it’s not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of its grandeur. Marvel at the Buland Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world built of red and buff sandstone and decorated by carving and inlaying of white and black marble.  Leave your guide here and continue by car to Jaipur.  After reaching Jaipur, you will be directly transferred to your hotel. Relax after checking in. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Days 8

Explore The Pink City

After breakfast, get ready in your vibrant outfits to explore this magnificent city. Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City because of the extensive use of the locally abundant pink plastered stone, painted so in honor of the visit of the royal consort of Queen Victoria. It thrills the soul with its massive forts, magnificent palaces, exquisite temples, and lush gardens. Your first stop in today’s sightseeing tour will be Amber Fort. Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds its ultimate expression.

Enjoy a short Jeep ride up to Amber, then once through the Sun Gate, your guide will take you around, explaining the history of this unbelievable place, the most beautiful and impressive forts in India. On the other side is the Sukh Niwas, which features an early form of air conditioning where a cool climate is created by winds that blow over the water and cool the air.

Following in the tour is the City Palace, which is a sprawling complex with gorgeous buildings and a marvellous collection of art and artifacts is without parallel in Rajasthan. A major part of the City Palace now consists of the ‘Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum.’ It is also the residence of the Jaipur Royal Family. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple, and the City Palace Museum.  Next, you will explore Jantar Mantar, which is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory, consisting of outsized astronomical instruments, is still in use, and incredibly, the sundials can tell time to the nearest second!

The last place to visit in Jaipur is the Hawa Mahal, also known as the “Palace of Winds.” Its five-storey structure of sandstone plastered pink is encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built-in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women where they could observe street life and yet not be seen. Overnight stay at the hotel.
